Road To Abyss: Part One

You know not what you see
Not what you may be
Still you seek out
Holy lands of the east
High tales of the north

Great knowing lurks above
The unseen only talked of
Womb of exploration
Never touched nor seen

Seven bodies of water dry out of liquid
A velvet eye sees none other
Ignorance was to blame

Time meets essence
Gold sands hide golden secrets
Harboring years of lost time

Dirt fills my mouth
Exploring the depths of the earth
The universe on brink of rebirth

Heir of the voyager's throne
We leave tomorrow

Meaning Never Meant So Little

We meet again
A nod of the head in acknowledgement
"A sunbeam hit my eye; consciousness abolished"
My ears shattered, your words I could not grasp
Conversation subtle, for words we did not need
Your eyes a million shrieking winds by themselves

This is no disguise, despite what it seems
A smirk, a grin, never hid your sin
Not knowing, nor hiding your intentions
Guessing no more, you know as well as I

"Communication is rare for me; I'd rather you come find me'
Returned to your own life, and I to mine
I didn't get to see you turn your face away
Twilight fades near, the dawn I fear
You weren't even there
And you're gone

Multiple Personalities

As I walk into the room it gets colder
A weary eye as I look over my shoulder
Slowly turn to face it, fears unwound
It steps back, not even making a sound

"Strangely enough, I think I've seen you before"
The room left empty, you were never there
In perpetual melancholy, amusement is rare
Two sides to my brain, neither one I can spare

I got demons in my head
And a troll in my heart
I see you in a new light,
something I thought I could never do

Weep, in fact beg
For what you want most is that you can never have

Absent minded to the point of despair
Completely blinded, I know you don't care

Internal monsters
Vanquished to the point of insanity
I know who I may be,
but who are you?

Angles Of Depth Perception

Once I gazed into that long, dreary night;
I saw a million petite stars in the city sky.
It was just the dust particles on my eye.

Now what is that I see dancing upon the surface of the moon?
A constellation bound upon her brow?
Clear, defined, untouchable.
A strange ocher she was.
A flash of maeve, a flash of pure.
So divine the beast of man.

Who is who when reality has no bounds?
So which will it be?
Ace of hearts?
Face of clown?
In an inhuman race, you and I are just mere players.
So wait until you've drowned.
In the light, in the sound.

One and one.
The earth and sun.
The moon had none.
In the blink of an eye,
The world could be gone with a sigh.

With a swirl of her gown, she had them gasping with delight.
Whoever thought she had the face of a clown?
Fear struck their hearts in replace of the sight.

As my eyes blurred, I couldn't see the dawn.
The future comes so fast, the memories foregone.
O glorious sky,
It was all just a trick of the eye.
